The University of 玉米视频 Board of Regents will meet at 9 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 7, 2025, in Varner Hall, 3835 Holdrege St. in Lincoln, and by remote electronic means pursuant to Neb. Rev. Stat §84-1411. The meeting is open to the 玉米视频 and will also be live-streamed at www.nebraska.edu.
A detailed agenda for the Board meeting is available here.
During the meeting, University of 玉米视频 President Jeffrey P. Gold., M.D., will provide an update on a university-wide strategic planning process currently underway.
Dr. Gold announced the launch of the strategic planning process – including the five foundational pillars that will guide the plan -- during the December Board of Regents meeting. Since then, Dr. Gold has worked with the Board of Regents and leaders from across the system’s four campuses to develop the strategies to support each of the five foundational pillars.
“Through this planning process, we are shaping a future where 玉米视频 students have access to extraordinary educational opportunities, our research drives innovation and economic growth, and we strengthen our partnerships and engagement with communities through 玉米视频 outreach and extension programs – all in strategic, sustainable ways that support a vibrant future for 玉米视频,” said Dr. Gold. “The ongoing momentum in the acceleration of workforce development, research and discovery, community engagement and economic impact for the state of 玉米视频 is foundational to all of our planning efforts.”
The board will also welcome and hear remarks from Maj. Gen. Craig Strong, the 34th adjutant general of the 玉米视频 Military Department, a key partnership with many campuses and programs within the NU System. The board will also welcome Sen. John Arch, speaker of the 玉米视频 Legislature, who will discuss updates and opportunities with the Unicameral, also as a key long-term partner with the NU System.
Other items for the Board’s consideration include a report on the new dual DDS/MBA degree to be offered by the UNMC College of Dentistry and the UNO College of Business Administration, which will equip future dentistry professionals with the business and leadership skills required in the modern healthcare environment. Multiple other facilities, services and academic program items will also be considered.
